I have to say this remake of "King Boxer" is quite well made with Timmy Hung "Sammo Hung's" son. Timmy Hung plays the original part of Lo Lieh quite well without overshadowing the original epic.

Timmy Hung with the broken hands, inflicted by the Japanese henchmen in this scene.

Japanese henchmen are 3 as in King boxer

Waise Lee on right had side of Timmy Hung, plays the part of the Iron palm instructor played by Fang Mian in the original film

This cap shows the arch-villains Lam Wai who plays the part of Tien Feng. His son is dressed in white, played by Tung Lam in the original version.

The old school master, actor/director Wu Ma play the original teacher of the main character played by Lo Lieh

Lets start with Xu Xiang Dong. His is mistakenly accredited as 2 separate actors on HKMDB. No trace of him being accredited in Holy Robe of the Shaolin Temple on HKMDB under his correct name.

Thanks for all these informations. I wonder where you find all this, I can't find anything about all these Mainland movies which are on your site...

Holy robe of Shaolin Temple is a very good one and I remember that I was very impressed by the performance of Xu Xiang Dong and the guy who played the evil monk.

I'm quite staunch when it comes to researching kung fu films. I've been at it a long time. HKMDB seems to be lost in regards to mainland films. Its a whole new ball game, almost as if this section of the genre was invisible to the average collectors eyes. I got most of my bits from Toby Russell its no secret. We go back 25 years as collectors and friends.

The star that played the evil monk was Yu Rong Guang (star of Iron Monkey newwave version)
