I agree Whirlwind. The alternate titles are difficult to keep track of at times.

I've no idea why the Gold Connection poster depicts Le as the star.

'Bruce Lee Against Snake in the Eagle's Shadow'
lol
A Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan double cash-in! That's some audacious marketing there!

Cheers Kwai.

I wouldn't really class Donnie Yen as a clone. However, he definitely copied the Lee mannerisms throughout the Fist Of Fury TV series.

Does anyone know the story behind the Chang Yi basher 'Fist of Justice' (1973)?

This has to be one of the worst attempts to try and cash in on the Bruceploitation sub-genre that I've ever seen! The footage which has been spliced into the German print is, from what I can gather, totally unrelated to the plot of the main film.

I have since edited the Bruce scenes out of my print so that there is more of a flow to the film but I would be very interested to know if there is a story behind it.

My guess is that someone stumbled across some reels of an old damaged or incomplete Chang Yi basher and attempted to beef it up with a dash of Bruce & Chuck?

I think you're right Pete. The fights and the film itself aren't too bad but those Bruce inserts are plain ridiculous!

Nice bit of info Whirlwind. I have to say that I honestly didn't know about this. However, it does make sense considering it's a Dick Randall production. Randall worked with Le on quite a few movies. Also, around this time Le was filming in Europe.

I found a funny review of the film on youtube.

It features the Le footage and the dubbing is terrible!

I almost missed this - yes, I have Pieces on DVD - it's pretty poor but does have some half decent gore effects. To be honest, I saw it so long ago, I even forgot that Bruce Le was in it.

It's a US produced spoof starring a Korean comedian called Johnny Yune and there was also a sequel entitled 'They Still Call Me Bruce'. I saw them on video back in the 80s and the martial arts content is minimal (so is the comedy).
