A better tomorrow...

Postby chopsocky » Sun Jul 30, 2006 9:15 pm

...I just got the new optimum asia release of this and to tell the truth its a bit of a hit and miss package.

The print isn't overly improved compared to my MIA version, while the scratchs have been removed the picture still looks like theres a layer of dust on it.
The good point of the first disk would have to be what is probably the best menus i've seen on any dvd ever!
The correctly translated remastered subs are fantastic compared to MIA, which are real shoddy in comparrison.

Bey Logan provides yet another first class comentary which as usual is solid gold to listen to.

The secound disc contains are quite good doc on john woo and his caree and even contains a great insight into life at shaws studio, tellin of how David Chiang and Ti Lung once tried to persuade Chang Cheh into letting John Woo have a starring role in a film along side them.

there is also an interview with chow yun fat and john woo, these are the same ones found on the MIA disc.
Nice steele tin to!

Any one notice that its HKL releasing A better tomorrow 2, instead of optimum. wierd!

This is a movie I would like to see for its US gangster nostalgic appearance.
GUNMEN

The star of the movie Tony Leung Ka Fai is a superb actor IMO after seeing him in

Double Vision with US star David Morse....This movie is a masterpiece well worth the watch.
