Great stills Pete. My favourite Blaxploitation movie is That Man Bolt starring Fred Williamson. It was filmed in Hong Kong and Williamson plays a Bond/Flint style character who is a martial arts expert. Very cool movie. The US DVD features a great print.

Here is the original trailer:

ECC mentioning Dolemite reminded me of another Rudy Ray Moore film with a ton of kung fu antics in it - the Human Tornado, which was billed as Dolemite 2. Very rough around the edges..but to be fair to him Rudy could bust a few moves!

I think I've mentioned some of my favourite Blaxploitation films in another thread but here are two more great movies.

Detroit 9000 - awesome, action packed film which must be seen!!

And also the grim and downbeat Education of Sonny Carson. More of a nostalgic drama than action but it's definitely a powerful and poignant piece of film.

For Hip Hop fans - Ghostface Killah sampled this film at the beginning of his 'Black Jesus' track...

I just picked this up about a week ago. I've only watched Hot Potato. Bit of a boring movie really. It does have Yuen Biao, Lam Ching Ying and Eric Tsang as stuntmen. I love the trailer for The Human Tornado, the guy in the trailer keeps calling it "The Human Tornada".

I think most of them just negative the ethnic people typecast as The same repetitive roles. Could you imagine if sun dragon came out now hollywood would be shouting it's racist it's really the same thing they do but they hide it a bit better.

I\'m a fan of this genre too Pete. You should also check out the sequel which is called Cleopatra Jones And The Casino Of Gold.

One of my favourite blaxploitation movies is That Man Bolt starring Fred Williamson. It was filmed in Hong Kong.

There\'s a good documentary about the blaxploitation genre called Baadasssss Cinema. I have it on dvd and a lot of the key actors are interviewed.

Coffy is an excellent film. Arguably Pam Grier's finest moment. Foxy Brown and Bucktown are pretty good too.

Her grittiest role IMO is in Fort Apache The Bronx where she plays a whacked out crack hoe. Definitely worth a watch that one.
