wow, this is a pretty brutal movie, i just got the Sazma ultrabitd dvd number 550 or 3333. Really impressed with the lobbycards and tin packaging, this is the best av presentation of the movie around worth seeking out, specially for collectors. Very underrated movie IMO

Yep, Ferox is pretty nasty stuff. I still say that the uncut Cannibal Holocaust outdoes it in the gore department though.
Highlights have to be the amazing effect where Zora Kerova is hung by her breasts and "John Morghen" when his head turns into a buffet for the locals! lol
My favourite flick of this genre is still "Cannibal" (Ultimo Mondo Cannibale) from 1977, also by Ruggero Deodato. Better acting and well made, it's more of a survival film than anything else. The Shriek Show DVD is the way forward for this one.

I got Jungle holocaust as well, again i thought this movie was increably well made.
I haven't checked out the grindhouse release of ferox but i have their version of Holocaust and beleive me it is the version to own. Im pretty sure they have a regular edition of it out now so it shouldn't be hard to get hold of.

Holocaust is my favourite out of all the cannibal movies.
You would never be able to make those kind of movies these days. Not without ending up in jail anyway!!!

funny you should say cause the director almost did end up in jail back then.

This is true. Deodato was actually charged with obscenity and got off when the other actors turned up in court to defend him and prove they hadn't been harmed in any way!.
Still...I'd certainly like to feed the producer of the upcoming American Cannibal Holocaust remake to the tribes in New Guinea...why can't Hollywood give it a rest?.

There is a nordic version of Cannibal Holocaust that DVDCOMPARE say is the longest version out there. I havent got it myself so I cant confirm or not. The Grindhouse version has more extras though from what I know. I havent even got/watched the movie as I dont like animal cruelty.

The version that claims to be the longest just have two extra shot in the 'Road to death' sequence.
These are included as an extra on the grindhouse disc, so it is definately the version to own still.
