Polly you should check out (even thought judging by the looks of things you probably have)
Calibre 9-this is a top action crime flick plenty of the gritty stuff

Street Law- One of the best dirty harry/death wish type rip offs.

I recently got the Valachi papers- more mainstream and weel know! Good charles bronson flick all the same.

Frm the police with thanks- Another top dirty harry rip off. Enrico maria stars.

Hi Chopsocky,

You're right mate, I have all 4 of the films that you mention there but I agree Milano Calibro 9 is superb stuff (in fact most of Fernando Di Leo's output is well worth owning) - with Street Law coming in a close second.

Sounds like you've got a nice selection of Euro Crimes yourself mate!

a friend of mine has a big collection of european cinema in genral. I regually borrow in mass from him, never knowing what to expect, but after getting Street Law is was hooked. so i've been watching my way through his collection since, nevr knew just how cool brutal and entertianing italian flicks are before it!

here are some images a found a while back.

'violent proffesionals'

Euro Crime is a wonderful genre - you have the violent larger than life characters like Tomas Milian in 'Tough Ones' with manic car chases and cashiers being gunned down left right and centre - then you have the other side of things where there is more emphasis on the actual investigation like 'Calling All Police Cars' and finally you have the more political and serious flicks like Damiano Damiani's output which normally takes swipes at corruption in the halls of justice etc.

Nice pics by the way Chop! I like that scene above where Mario Adorf is pointing the gun at Gastone Moschin. Try and borrow 'Manhunt / La Mala Ordina' from your mate if you havent seen it already - it's one of the best the genre has to offer IMO!.

watched big racket and have to say it really is quite good. Kinda like a small working of Deathwish, but a real good watch. Not for everyone though cause this flick is very brutal, killings and an extreamly nasty rape scene even after obvious cuts where made.
worth a look.
