Euro Crime Artwork!

Postby pollypolly » Thu Jul 20, 2006 9:46 pm

I know there are a few Euro Crime fans on the forum, so I thought I'd share a few more of the covers from my collection with you.
Once the Spaghetti Western genre has been exhausted - I'd heartily recommend Euro Crimes if you're looking for a further film fix as most of the Western actors would go on to appear in these films too!

Here's our mate Giuliano Gemma in the dark police drama from 1980 'THE WARNING'

A fantastic Godfather rip off next from 1973 called 'I KISS THE HAND' and starring Enter The dragon's John Saxon in what must be one of his finest (if not THE finest) roles ever.

'BLOODY FRIDAY' - A German / Italian co production from 1972. This brutal and unforgiving heist flick is a favourite of mine.

I have to touch on a Turkish film as well. The Turks had some of the most bizarre and unsympathetic films ever committed to celluloid. This one from 1973 - 'INTIKAM' - was very nasty....Check the lovely leading lady on the cover - now you can see why I'm hooked on these films!|:o

Anyone else have any rare Euro crime pics to share?

My pleasure guys - thanks!. I only wish I had time to upload more. ..
The films above are superb but there are better out there - I just wanted to post a few covers so people can get a flavour of the genre and the various contributions from different countries. I'll try and post some more over the weekend (esp. some more of Giuliano Gemma!).

Thanks for these ones.
bloody friday is a complete classic and one of my faves, I haven't seen the warning but it looks good. From what i can remeber of i kiss the hand was that it was a pretty solid gangster type affair.

polly you really got some killers

Hi Chopsocky,
Cheers mate! Your dead right - 'Bloody Friday' is incredibly under rated and superb stuff indeed!
I think out of all the Godfather clones that Italy was churning out - 'I Kiss The Hand' was one of the best, John Saxon is dynamite in this as the foul mouthed up and coming don - cool that you've seen these flicks Chop as they aren't that widely known. I'll be sharing more covers soon.

Nice one Raj!
The late great Maurizio Merli - Chuck Norris of Italian cinema!lol

He was indeed the man - all 10 of those films you've highlighted are Merli classics IMO.
He always played the good guy or the tough police man on the edge. Have you ever seen 'Seagulls Fly Low' at all? In this one he plays a baddie and a hitman, it's a real oddity in his career. He's not on the cover but heres the video below:

Once again Rajandra - nice one for the Merli pics - you know your stuff mate!
