Shaw Brothers opening titles...

Postby PoleFighter » Sat Mar 24, 2012 7:37 pm

As a graphic designer and one that has studied the design of opening title sequences for movies, such as the works of Saul Bass (Hitchcock) and Maurice Binder (James Bond), I've found that some of the Shaw Brothers movies have some brilliantly realised and designed titles...

Both of those examples are great intros. As long as the intro sequence is seperate to the actual film itself rather than just having the credits overlaid over it (hope that makes sense!?)

Mainly Shaw films as they had the budget to come up with elaborate intros.
Sadly it was not released this way when re-mastered.....So I dubbed the re-mastered version so as to give the fans a true understanding of Hung Kung Fu The origin of Chinese Martial Arts....A lot of techniques from my own family style Fai-Gur Kung Fu utilizes many of the Hung Techniques.
Nice good to hear Ted Thomas he had to be one of the best dubbers imo especially as a villain.
I don't even realize that 3 STYLES OF THE HUNG FIST was dubbed in English I thought it was a sort of promo for HEROES TWO show a few weeks before the film in the original showing. Good job Pete matching the dub & remastered.

...and check this intro out - has anyone seen this film, it looks pretty cool?

Wow, imagine if all these intros were put all together on one DVD - it would be a pretty awesome compilation!
