Learning to totally relax the body...

Postby peringaten » Sat Nov 14, 2009 1:46 pm

...with good foundation and posture in order to strike & tense. Learning to pull into posture, shoulders down, sacrum tucked, head up, back straight & then totally relax into posture; this is as much an artform as just learning moves, tensing & striking, yes? Am I right? We don't see this enough on screen - too much rigidity. Bruce had it; Lau Kar Leung definitely had it; those dudes know/knew what they're doing - just look at the start of Mad Monkey Kung Fu. Got to relax proper before the snap of the strike I guess? Hard work, yo. Are your shoulders too tense & your butt too out? You get me? Is your body totally relaxed entirely, but ready for the strike?

I'm like the Royal Mail mate, I'm already ready to strike.
