Guys I've just stumbled upon this thread during the 5 minutes free I have a day! It's great to see the spirit of the forum has not gone away, in fact, has grown even bigger with what looks like some excellent new members. I was just posting to say how sorry I am to have "disappeared". . . ...

By the sounds of things, like most people on here, I hate cropping. Agree with you Abbot, they must have been desperate to get these movies on peoples screens, so much so that they'd go to lengths as far as damaging the original piece of film. My pet hate is when you have characters speaking off scr...

Great thread Pete - we're used to seeing "Best of..." threads all the time so this is a welcome change! My two worst films ever are Drunken Master Strikes Back and Mantis Under Falcoln Claws - I always sit through the film just to give it a chance but these two were seriously stinkers. Hav...

Since I started this thread well over a year ago I've been very fortunate to sample some more of the great mans work. I think I prefer him of Joseph Kuo. While his films were perhaps a little more creative, Lee Tso Nam really knew how to tell a story. He took genre cliches and shed a different light...

Some fantastic costumes in this movie, and I love some of the sets and outdoor locations used in the movie.

As Hwang mentioned Tien Peng has a role in 18 Bronzemen which he pulls off well enough - he looks quite small and slight next to Carter, but then most did. I have also seen him in Kung Fu In The Brave Shadow (also mentioned above). I like him in this film, he carries himself well on screen and I wou...

I'll second Goldenswallow's nomination for Abbot White - a terrible film and a terrible dub. I like bad dubs as much as the next guy but this one was something else.

Also didn't care too much for the dubbing in Mantis Under Falcoln Claws.

I quite like commentaries - I used to hate them like our good friend Eagles Claw but you can pick up some really great bits of info on them. Bey Logan seems to be the one who gets around most, particularly with the HKL releases. Must say I'm looking forward to the Along Come The Tiger commentary fea...

Damnit I missed another chat - can we organise one soon, perhaps this weekend Sunday? Will people be around and what would be a good time?

My stance on this has changed over the years. Initially, I didn't care about the cast, just as long as there was at least one big star e.g. Jackie, Sammo or Wong Tao. But as I've begun to understand the whole genre a lot more, cast is a lot more important to me now. For example, the cast in Hand of ...
